Hi, this is Knodal the k is silent, like in knot

Think in systems.

Knodal is a living map of your software. Every module, class, interface and library, with the lines between them. Sketch it from scratch, or let it read code that got away from you, and work on it with your team, live. Like a whiteboard that actually knows what an interface is.

No credit card. No install. Works offline too.

five nodes, four links, ten seconds ✍️
Reads your RustTypeScriptJavaScriptPythonJavaKotlin and, with a plugin, whatever you write in.

Your architecture, out of your head and onto a map.

✏️

Draw it

Classes, interfaces, modules, libraries. Link them with uses, implements, extends, depends on. Knodal keeps it honest: no class implementing a class, no inheritance loops.

πŸ”

Scan it

Point it at a repository and it draws what's really there: packages, types, who uses whom. Scan again later: your notes and groups stay, the code's changes come in.

🀝

Share it

Teams, spaces, invite links, roles. Everyone's cursor on the same map, edits showing up as they happen, and your own undo that never eats someone else's work.

Vibe-coded into a knot?

Take back the wheel.

The AI wrote it, it runs, and nobody quite knows how any more. Point Knodal at the folder: every module, class and dependency lands on one map, with who uses whom and the file each one lives in. Read your system like a city map instead of a pile of files, then make it yours again.

  • See how it really fits together, in seconds
  • Every box points back to its file
  • Scan again after each prompt: new parts show up, gone ones get listed
  • Your notes and groups stay put, scan after scan
  • Ask your own AI to explain, regroup or review it
nine files, four languages, one map πŸ—ΊοΈ

Live, together

Two heads, one map.

See where your teammates are looking, what they picked, what they're dragging around. Their changes land on your screen as they make them. Viewers look, commenters comment, editors edit, and owners decide who's who.

  • Live cursors and selections
  • Everyone undoes their own edits
  • One shared layout, no fighting over positions
that's Leo. he's dragging the bus. 🚌

One more dimension

Turn it around.

Big project? Hit 3. The map spreads out in depth and you spin it with the mouse. Every click, drag and link still works, in perspective.

Teams and spaces

All your maps, all your people.

One account, as many teams as you like. Each team has spaces: one map per project, each with its own history. Make an invite link per role, send it, done. Once-only links for the careful ones.

A team called Starship: four spaces as cards, its members with their roles, an invite link

Offline first

Works on a plane. Merges in Git.

The desktop app keeps your map on your computer, no network needed. A project is a plain text file made for diffs: a moved node is one changed line, and Knodal ships its own Git merge driver, so two branches come back together without a fight.

$ git diff shop.devapp.json
@@ "positions": {
-    "checkout": [120.0, 80.0],
+    "checkout": [340.0, 96.0],
     "cart": [-40.0, 210.0],

$ git merge feature/payments
developer-app merge: merged shop.devapp.json cleanly

Ours

The public server

Sign up, make a team, invite your people. Nothing to install, nothing to look after.

Open the app

Yours

Your own server

One program, one folder of data. Run it on a box in the office, behind your VPN, or anywhere Docker runs. Your maps never leave the building.

docker compose up

Nobody's

Just your computer

The desktop app for Linux and Windows works with no server at all, and joins a team's server when you want company.

Go on, poke it.

No account. No server. This is the real editor, running right here in your tab. Your map stays in your browser.

About 3 MB, loaded once. Best on a laptop or a big screen.

or open it in its own tab β†—

Tip: start with Load the example. It's Knodal's own map.
